He is survived by his mother, Carol Burkey and his two sisters, Allyson Gluska and Melissa Jenkins and their families. A service will be held at Highland Chapel Methodist Church on Lake Isabella Blvd at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at the VFW in Lake Isabella at 1:00 p.m. Mark loved living in the Kern River Valley. May he rest in peace here forever.

Born in Taft to William D. and Nesta Carillo Turner, he grew up in Southern California and Bakersfield, graduated from Kern County Union High School, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a radioman and aviator (Ensign) and then for 27 years with the Kern County Fire Department (Captain).
